Flashback....

You're a pack of typical 14 year old boys. Its a warm, muggy afternoon after lunch and you're in no mood to listen to Parvathi Kruparam+ drone on and on and on about finding area of a pagh within a pagh (she means a Path within a Park) so what do you do? You engage in Schoolboy Exchanges.
=
Smartass Student #1: "Pagh with a what ma'am?"
PK: " Pagh within a pagh child...pay attenshun."
SS#2 (To SS#1): "Make sure you pay"
SS#1 (To SS#2): "Shut up"
SS#2: "Up Shut"
SS#1: "Down Shut"
SS#2: "Shut down!"

=
They've now come to the last possible avenue of exploration in that conversation, with brownie points going to SS#2 for having cleverly instigated and had the final say in the exchange. That SS#2 walked away with the brownie points is further driven home by SS#2 waving his hand in front of SS#1's face (or if that's not possible, in the general direction of SS#1, with a sucking sound in between his lips sounding not unlike mice announcing themselves in a dark attic).
=
SS#1 meanwhile, is thirsting for some payback.
=
SS#1: *asks a silly quosteen to show Parvathi Kruparam that he's...well...there. [Arbit CP, some B-School nerds call it ]
SS#2 (Trying to explode on the brownie point scale): "I want you to shut up"
SS#1: "Keep on wanting"

=
*Conversation could have stopped here, but sometimes it doesn't. Brownie points still up for grabs, if extended. Otherwise, SS#1 sweeps this round...*

--> Extension 1 <---
=
SS#2 : "I won't"
SS#1: "Then don't!"
=
*Again, conversation could have subsided, but brownie points are hard to come by on occasion*
=
--> Extension 2 <--
SS#2: "Very funny"
SS#1: "I forgot to laugh"
SS#2: "Keep on forgetting"
SS#1 (Taking a page out of SS#2's book): "I won't!"
SS#2 (In a clever reversal): "Then Don't!!!"
=
Now, unless SS#1 can employ The Mirror (With further consequences as described) the conversation is over. SS#2 is the CHAMPION.
=
However, with all the amusement that this exchange generates, all their base are belong to us.
=
Hail to the Schoolboy Syndrome - the universal cure to boredom. Or Math class.

Comments:
you write very well.your school related posts makes me feel nostalgic and reminds me of my class boys. i read all the posts in your blog just to see if you have that pungent sarcasm in the tone. you do. and i also have to mention that you have a very disturbing profile on orkut. i mean your "biatch" on "about me" sometime back and how abdominal fat and incorrect sentence formation turns you off. i wonder how people can actually be so annoyingly forthright. it sure does take a lot of guts and arrogance to be like that.

Hi Moushmi. Thanks for the comments.

About my Orkut page - I simply look at it as merely putting down something that's true, without the annoying part :).

Arrogance has nothing to do with it,IMHO. I am who I am - and I shouldn't have to apologize to anybody (least of all to society which is as flawed a system as can be) for being who I am . Does that make sense?

It sure does make sense and I dont remember asking you to apologize to anybody! Its such a terrible pity that I am or rather most of us are so used to hypocritical and pretentious people around us that raw or naked reality shocks us beyond words and makes us wonder why the person is being rude! now does that make sense? or am I just randomly throwing words to call it a philosophy!!

- Moushmi

What I meant was - the tone appears to be 'annoyingly forthright' because I feel I shouldn't have to hold anything back...

Hypocrites and pretenders are all around us (and around me as well) however in my opinion I am free to choose who I want to be and I choose to be myself and embrace that, with all its flaws and follies.

I think you speak wise words Moushmi-san...please don't let the big bad world get to you, ever :).

hah! the big bad world... i think everyone should be smitten by the big bad world, atleast once so that it breaks their bubbles of stupid dreams! on a more lighter note i didnt expect Azhagiya Thamizh Magan to flop... ilaya thalapthi kouthittaaru!!

- Moushmi

You mean
"Kanavu vaazhkai vaazhadha da vaazhadha da....
Vaazhkai kanava pogum ada pogum ada.."

as Ilaya Thalapathi sings in Sivakasi? Yen vazhi, thaneee vazhi.

I watched Azhagiya Thamizh Magan over the weekend - and it wasn't bad.I think Ilaya Thalapathi needs to do something with a good story behind it....

Evvalavo panraru, idhu panna mattara!!?

hahahahaha!! athey athey! and about Ilaya Thalapthi doing something about those horrible scripts... naan ethum solrathukku illai :). with A.R.Rehman's music, intha padathula potta panatha edithiruppanga. I am looking forward to "Indira logathil na azhagappan"!
